Friday, May 2, 2014 - Opaque dense color garnet with hints of purple violet at the rim. The smells are cassis, smoke, light spice, espresso, blackberry, and menthol. The tastes are currants, dark fruit, vanilla, toast, earth, espresso, and cedary notes. The acidity is very zingy and the tannins are stout and woody with velvety furry texture. This begs for juicy steak or lamb. Had this with bison and it was a good food match.
