On the palate the wine was much better, medium bodied yet showing elegance and some impressions of velvet I think the wine will age well and ,in time, may gain a higher score. the price for clos des Papes seems high in comparison to (e.g.) Vieux Donjon or Charvin. This bottle is not a match against Beaucastel.
