Tuesday, September 9, 2014 - Heresy-Paella Night with French Wines (Contigo, San Francisco): From the American importer. Dull red color with maturing rim. Gorgeous multidimensional nose of mulled red fruit, toffee, and herbs. Lovely medium weight. Supple, long, natural sweetness of fruit and superb balance-very vinous. Mature and complex, just a great bottle of Chateauneuf which I preferred to the 2000 tonight; the older wine seemed sterner and less fully developed.
