Tuesday, June 20, 2017 - A few with Indian Food (Cafe Tandoor): One of those wines I have been lucky enough to drink multiple times over the years. It really has improved with age. Of course, the last time I tried it was in the dining room at JJ Prum looking out at the vineyard on a sunny day across the Mosel River. For some reason, this bottle was not quite as good as that. ;-) Go figure. In any event, it really is outstanding and just starting to come into its own IMO. Light golden in color. The nose has the slightest bit of petrol on it. Also some wet rocks and slight tropical fruits. A bit sugary. On the palate, this is more elegant than powerful. Slightly viscous. Pineapple, minerals and slight candied citrus note. Worked well with an Indian Rice pudding (not sure the name of the dish). Enough acidity to bring it all together. No hurry, this is not showing much age at this point.
