95 Points

Thursday, September 2, 2010 - Root 246 Dinner (Root 246, Solvang, California): Opened and splash decanted almost two hours before serving. Purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Big nose of currants, plums, blueberries and a mix of other dark fruits. Huge on the palate with flavors of currants, blueberries, cherries and berries. Medium acidity, fairly firm tannins, full bodied to the hilt. Can be drank now with a decant or probably should be held into the medium term before trying again. 95+ for the moment. We'll see where she heads.
