Saturday, August 28, 2021 - 15.7% abv. Medium-dark ruby, extremely aromatic. Damn cork broke off upon removal. Note to self: Ah-so on anything much older than a decade or so. On the plate, ripe plum, black pepper, iodine, black olive, meat and a sweet floral hint. A hint of alcohol on this high octane bruiser. Outstanding depth, length, intensity and concentration, but not heavy on the palate. Flamboyant, wild and exotic. I usually prefer the Grenache-based Saxums with age, but this exceeded my expectations.
