Sunday, June 28, 2015 - Dark purple color turning violet at the rim with a transparent edge. The nose is very opulent, dense and ripe with dark fruits, licorice, rose petals, and espresso. The palate is full-bodied, plush with an ultra-velvety texture. Flavors of blueberry pie, ripe boysenberry, pepper spice, fig, smoked meat and nutmeg. Fleshy with attractive tannins and bracing acidity aptly balances the ripe fruit and high alcohol levels. Finishes long and juicy with hints of earth, clove and minerals. A classic, for sure. Drink now until 2027.
