Saturday, October 19, 2013 - A Small Saturday Night Wine Dinner: Poured from a perfect looking bottle recently sourced from Hart Davis Hart. On first pour the nose was a tad ungiving, colour is fairly dark with little bricking. Fruit is pretty ripe and oak is noted with interesting touches of sweat, saline, and a touch of soya sauce. I left a bit in the bottle and by the next day the nose was more open with lots of dark cherry sauce, vanilla, coffee grounds, nutmeg and cloves. Still young a primary feeling with more ripeness than I usually care for, though not jammy. Palate is dense and concentrated with plenty of acid and tannin remaining and replays the saline and soya sauce on the moderate finish.
