Friday, March 29, 2024 - Heavy weight Etna Rosso made from single varietal of Nerello Mascalese from 70-100 year old wines, aged for 18 months in used FR oak. Medium ruby colour. Medium+ intensity aroma of strawberries, cheese, smoky cherries, roses, dried plums, caramel, smoke, tar. Full body, powerful, rich and silky structure, concentrated deep & matured flavours, lacks a bit of finesse and elegance, maybe brighter acidity. Otherwise its a great Nerello with medium fine tannins. On a slow decline, therefore drink up.
