Thursday, October 17, 2013 - Tertiary development on the nose with leather, earth and still a faint touch of cherry. Light, clear garnet colour. Light and well balanced palate, with flavours heading into the second/tertiary range. Earth, leather and a touch of tart cherry. Fully resolved tannins and balancing acidity. This was probably just past peak or at the tail end of peak and it was fading a bit in the glass as it got air. Was a bit surprising this was from a riper vintage as it had no raisin or cooked/stewed fruit flavours and was well balanced (acidity/tannins).
