Saturday, February 14, 2009 - Brought to Valentine's Dinner by our great friends, this Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon was a dark garnet in the glass, with a lush, open nose of dark cherry, blackberry, cassis, vanilla and oak, with a noticeable vegetal streak. The palate was much the same, very tasty, with well-integrated tannins and a long finish. Distinctly different from and a good match to the '05 Lancaster Estate Alexander Valley cabernet sauvignon that we also consumed at this dinner.
