Monday, September 2, 2019 - This Pagani is a blend of 88% Zin and 7% Alicante Bouschet, 2% Carignane and 3% Petite Sirah. Bricking is apparent at the rim while the core is a deep maroon. Cinnamon, bramble berry and Zin funk dominate the nose, but roasted tomato and molasses make a showing as well. A bit of blackberry on the attack along with cinnamon. The other aspects of the nose appear on the palate. The finish is Zin funk and coffee. The tannins are fully integrated and the wine very much has a claret feel to it. These are definitely ready to drink. 14.8% alc. With grilled London broil and charred shishito peppers. Recommended.
