Wednesday, March 11, 2009 - 14.8% alcohol...88% Zinfandel, 7% Alicante Bouschet, 3% PS...nose of vanilla oak jumps from the glass, tremendously spicy, raspberry..on the palate the wine is rich, velvety, some tannin, coats the mouth with tart fruit, but in an interesting way there is this "green aspect" - not sure what is causing it, the wine is plenty ripe...oak shows through rather highly on the finish as well. Overall I'd say this is something to wait on, not sure it's showing the full experience at this time, my lone remaining bottle will sleep until the end of Draper's window.
