Thursday, August 12, 2010 - Tasted at home from a split along side the '06 Esprit Blanc also from a split. Darker in color than the '06 with stronger aromas of tropical fruits, less of a floral note, and a wiff of alcohol. Robust buttery pears, honeysuckle, and melons with good acidity and minerality. Nicely balanced but still feels like a youngster. This wine's best years are yet to come. The power of the fruit and dose of acidity make this pair well with spicier foods (grilled cajun chicken). Drink the '06 while this rests another couple of years.
