A little tight now as you would expect, but it opens up. Certainly this has short to mid-term aging potential, but I don't think one needs feel like the baby killer popping one of these now. The nose is black cherries and a scent that is not exactly like but reminscent of menthol. Maybe pine is closer. Some wood and alcohol evident on the nose as well. The fruit is dark and ripe. Plums come to mind. Super ripe tannins, medium plus acid, full body and great polish. Medium length finish. There is room for improvement here as the elements of this wine integrate over time.
