Tuesday, November 27, 2012 - How can you qualify this kind of wine with "points?" Silly men. This wine comes from somewhere. Somewhere very specific. It cannot be duplicated. Only mourvedre from Bandol smells like this.

Kermit does it again with Domaine Gros' Nore. But that's no surprise considering he brought us Domaine Tempier.

Call of the wild in the aroma, like a Sidney Bechet solo. High toned, herbs, floral - very intriguing - like a sultry brunette that sits in the corner all night, speaking to no one. Draws me in, makes me want to know more. This wine will sing for many years to come.

And then... the tannic grip. This is real wine. No evidence of an over paid winemaker to soften up the tannins for the grocery store. Red fruits dominate but they play nicely with the acidity - very berry vibrant. Makes me crave Quail or game Hen. Makes me wish I had purchased more...
