Friday, December 18, 2015 - purchased in Aquitaine during my first trip to the region with my friend Ralf in 1994. cellared in the meantime. cork is wet up to 5mm, and crumbly, but tight, removal in 2 pieces. P&P.eye: deep ruby with bricking, 3mm fading, sediment. nose: black cherry, cooked prunes, pencil shavings, menthol, vegetable broth, lactic acid. palate: refreshing menthol note. medium weight. tannins fine but surprisingly prominent. finish 18 Caudalie, stable. this is surprisingly appealing, maybe a bit past peak, but not much. mature Bordeaux is worth the wait
