Sunday, July 12, 2009 - Popped, and decided to give this bottle the "mollydooker shake". Not sure how I feel about shaking the sh*t out of a nice bottle, but if that's what they call for, then...
Pours a rich, dark purple in the glass. Thin-rimmed clear water band. Nose was incredible, and danced around everything from an initial brown/maple sugar, to blueberry, banana leaf, smoke and tar. On the palate, a very satisfying mouth coating feel, this big shiraz gives way to a bunch of blueberry and black fruit flavors, and ends with a big finish. To sum it up in one statement, this is like blueberry banana pancakes with maple syrup. Nice acidity, nice balance, nice wine.
