Friday, August 27, 2010 - Drank at Nana's to celebrate Owen's birth (Blue Eyed Boy). This was a deep, dark, layered wine. It certainly has the huge dark fruit, but it also has layers of concentrated fruit. The fruit itself was complex, but the overall wine was not as complex as a more subtle Syrah from the Northern Rhone or California. It differentiates itself from the Boxer in its smoothness and integrated tannins. Really nice. 92-93
