Friday, September 10, 2010 - Very dark and solemn garnet - crimson red. Not too expressive on the nose, but very delicious and intriguing, showing wild berries, blackberry and caramel. Does not lack power or expressiveness on the palate at any point. Shows marvelous length and awesome complexity throughout. Fabulous structure that supports and blends in perfectly with its parade of flavors, showing dark fruit, wild berries, sour cherries, then toffey caramel, on to dark chocolate, then an explosive finish of bountiful fruit, cocoa and expresso flavors, and light sage and black pepper. This wine still shows quite young, with a slight trace of heat, and this bottled contained quite a bit of sediments. I should have decanted the wine.
