Friday, February 18, 2011 - This is your definition of a Big, Bold, "Inky" Shiraz. I strongly recommend decanting for atleast two hours before going after this monster. This wine really takes time to open up. Otherwise it can be too bitter and over the top. Deep, dark, opaque purple with sediment present. The bottle should have a more defined shoulder... Strong bouquet of blackberry, dark cherry, and a hint of strawberry. Chewy with a lingering finish. I don't like the screw cap at all as I feel a traditional cork would benefit the maturation process of this wine over the next decade. A fun wine and unique.
