Sunday, June 5, 2011 - Did the Mollydooker shake and then decanted for about an hour and drank over the next 90 min or so (could have used longer decant), should have filtered, a fair amount of sediment; description similar to others- very dark violet, inky, opaque; jammy fruit, blackberry, currant, a little eucalyptus and some heat on the nose, alcohol is definitely noticeable; taste similar to the nose, some jammy fruit, spice, maybe a little white pepper; mid-palate, moderate finish, not tannic; you can definitely taste the alcohol (16.5%), but got better with time, should have decanted longer; paired very well with lamb kabob marinated in olive oil + lemon juice + garlic; if you like the big, bold Aussie style, you'll love this excellent shiraz.
