Perhaps this wine just needs more time as the tannins did start to mellow after 30 minutes. The front flavors are described in many posts below and are a joy but then about 3/4 of the way thru something happens and the wine gets disjointed and very tannic. Not the silky tannins and great finish I recall. I have 2 bottles of the 2008 and will keep those sometime before trying.
