Monday, August 31, 2009 - A thick bouquet of Black cherry, cedar and vanilla to match the deep ruby color of the wine. Round and supple in the mouth with medium body and decent acidity. Loads of dark berries from the old vines - black cherries and blackberries dominate. On the finish, the dark berries fade, leaving some spiceiness and smoke, with good length on the finish overall. The tannins are firm, but restrained & the wine is balanced throughout. An excellent value overall.
