Friday, January 8, 2010 - Popped and poured with the rabbit aerator. Royal purple clear color. A deep nice mostly cabernet nose with a bit of cut grass at first. Big but smoky dark fruit with a bit of earth and edgy tannins at first and young fruit finish at first but stabilized to more supple tannin and clear quaffable nose after about an hour with a nice long smokey trending to darker fruit and leather finish. I really like this. Nicely balanced and I think I'll get more as it feels like it will round out nicely in time. It's a big wine that can be enjoyed all night and this was about an hour after a spicy ginger asian dinner with a very nice Loosen Riesling. It just got better and better but I'll try the rest tomorrow.
