Saturday, February 20, 2010 - Ruby colour with a purple shade. I have tried this one without decanting, after decanting for an hour, one day later and two days later as well. I have even left a glass out on the table and tried it the next day. It smelled and tasted all the same without much difference. Oak is so dominant that apart from some black berries it is not possible to detect any other component. The palate is unbalanced as a result of overwhelming tannins and oak to the point that although there is a spicy tone it is not enough to save this wine. It will take more than five years for this to open up at which time I doubt there will be much fruit to support the structure.
