Saturday, March 27, 2010 - Popped and poured. Yellow gold colored. Strong scent of vanilla with hints of Clove, and Honeysuckle. I like somewhat 'buttery' chardonnay's and this one qualifies - may need to check my cholesterol after this bottle! Very oily, viscous texture on the palate - the word 'glycerin' comes to mind. Nice fruits of apricot, pear with ever present vanilla, light toast and clove. Lingering finish. I enjoyed this chard, but think it could be a bit better balanced with a little less of the buttery, vanilla, heavy oak. Surprisingly, my wife, who prefers un-oaked chardonnays actually quite enjoyed this one - go figure.
