Saturday, December 8, 2012 - Smells true to Syrah, nice pepper, smokiness and ripe cherries coming through. The pepper comes through on the pallet quite strongly with red ripe fruit, cherries and raspberries, a little smoke and charcoal, also a medium amount of acidity and a good tannin structure. It lacks a little roundness for me, quite piercing the way it attacks my mid pallet And the finish lingers but feels one dimensional. I have never been a great Syrah fan, but wanted to try this one because the claret was delicious. This was still a good wine, but not worth the price.
