Sunday, May 3, 2009 - A young bruiser indeed! Dark robe, with a nose seemingly consistent for many of us - blueberries, blackberries, black currant, a hint of leather and spice. Bracing attack with initial drying tannins, that mellowed nicely after 30 minutes in the decanter. Good structure, very malbec-dominant, meaning less fruit than you'd expect, good extraction, a hint of spice. No red fruits to speak of here, nor typical anise or eucalyptus, like I generally prefer. This has signs of aging well, and we'll check again in a few years.
