Monday, July 20, 2015 - Another great showing from this unique wine.
Deeply colored with brick-colored hues at the rim, it had a deep, sensual, old-fashioned nose typical of Unico. Notes of leather, tar, molasses, chocolate, orange rind, old spice, wood, balsamic nuances and a healthy dose of volatile acidity. Suave on the palate which had depth and staying power. More rustic, fuller and more powerful than top growth Bordeaux's of similar age, maybe with less finesse.
A great wine.
