Wednesday, October 4, 2023 - The Return to the Ledbury (The Ledbury, London): A bit of a unicorn of a wine and sort of those rare experiences.
No premox in sight here. The wine is indeed on the fresh side of things too albeit it is well into it secondary phase. Elegant, effortless beauty. The fruit is there albeit evolved, soft stone fruit, citrus and with a mineral edge. Any oak used in the elevage has long been assimilated and the wine just sang the classic elegant tune of well aged Burgundy. Not overtrying and in a way asking you to come in a look for the different elements. Now is it worth the hyped pricing, probably not but still an excellent wine and a solid 93-94
