Friday, August 27, 2021 - The 2006 Emigre is a blend of four vineyards and six grape varieties (Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvedre, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, and Muscadelle).
Dark ruby core, rich, ripe and slightly pungent nose, gradually open up to show blueberry jam, plum, black cherry, smoke and sweet cedar notes.
Soft and velvety entry, showing Blackcurrant, blueberry, cherry and liqueur. Intensity slowly build up on palate with a polished mouthfeel.
Smooth and almost dissolve tannins, lingering finish with hints of spicy aftertaste.
Drink over the night. Still holding well and opening up after 2 hours. It has old world touch but with a distinctive new world fruits .
