Tasted Single blind. Double decanted for 5hrs. Oh yes, we're back to the traditional CDP territory. Very strong barnyard aromas that distinctive this among the rest. Earth, roasted herb intermixed with meat, sweet and spicy intense core. Quite fascinating if you like barnyard! As usual, this sensual Clos des Papes boost a powerful, intense core but remained elegance and pure. Fresh, layered with roasted and smoky complexity with inner 'perfume' of barnyard. Unctuous texture, charming and seductive juicy sweet finish. Excellent but this is overwhelming by the previous wine, the stunning Chaupin. 92-94
