Monday, February 21, 2022 - Was saving this last bottle to drink with my father, who was born in 1928. But for the last few years he hadn't been drinking wine or alcohol of any sort any more so we never found the occasion to drink it. He died today, just a few days before his 94th birthday, so I decided to open this bottle and drink it with some friends. Call it the mood or whatever, but I found this wine to be terrific. Full of life and interest, plenty of biting acidity and a good dose of residual sugar. Yeah, maybe not the most profound wine in the world, but today it was 100 points. Here's to you, pops.
