Monday, April 27, 2015 - Deep, dark reddish-purple garnet in color with ever so slight clearing at the edges. Forward, attractive & fragrant nose of complex, dark ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & currants with classic cigar box overtones of cedar & aged tobacco, leather, herbal notes, some bell pepper notes, anise, earthy, dusty, dark cocoa, minerals and a touch of vanilla in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of balanced, still developing, silky smooth textured, complex, plush & seamless, ripe dark fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & cassis with dark cocoa, herbs, minerals, earthy, spices, toasty oak & vanilla in the background. Long lingering elegant finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting and airing but should continue to develop further with additional aging. A lovely California Cabernet which resembles a Bordeaux in style & structure.
