Wednesday, February 20, 2013 - Deep purple, completely opaque. Pronounced shiraz aroma of tar, smoke, oak, earth, some complexity. Full-bodied black fruit style, plenty of power but some elegance. Moderate tannin but fruit predominates. Coats the palate, staining. Alcohol present but not too hot or out of balance. Nice long full aftertaste, hint of anise. Excellent now, may not gain, but should easily last several more years.
