Saturday, June 14, 2014 - Eric's Birthday at La Vigna: needs time! while the nose is open the mid was shut and took over an hour to start showing potential. meaty, red and black fruit, touch of vanilla from the oak. the middle took its time but there was great earthiness and mushrooms there, with time more fruit and power. still rather tannic on the finish. needs time but an excellent wine.

6/14/2014 7:50:00 AM - My last experience with this wine was nowhere near as good as it was last night. Last night's bottle showed such purity of fruit and intensity on the palate that it truly makes me wonder how long it will go and what it will taste like 5 to 10 years down the road. The nose alone was worth the price of entry and continue to wow everyone at the table throughout the entire evening.
