90 Points

Tuesday, May 8, 2012 - This was touted by some of the wine mags as being pretty special, better than 90 rating. For $17.99. I agree it is GREAT Quality to Price Ratio and a darn good Chianti, but no more than 90. To the sight, it is cherry juice, neither inky and dark or thin. Nose is pure bing cherry and bramble. Taste is same as nose, but more woody and earthy, a little spice with good tannins that do not overwhelm. It had a really good, long finish. It did not quite stand up to a spicey sphagetti dish I made (made it TOO spicy), but I do not blame the wine...other than to say this is not a super-robust wine.
It is ready now, but some people might enjoy it better in a year if they don't like the tannins, which should soften.
