Monday, September 14, 2009 - Washington Wine Commision tasting (Rooftop Terrace, Millenium Park, Chicago IL): nose: very rich and full nose filled with really good tones of asian spices, blakc cherries, dark berries, and bits of anise. Classy depth with a robust style to is, though it is rather tight at this time
taste: excellent depth with chewy tannins that give off the youth of the wine. Tasty medium/full body with well defined tones of black cherries, dark berry tones, anise, and some hints of smokey tones lie underneath
overall: Lots of promise on this wine. Will need some years to fully come about as it will certainly need it. Comes off as slightly more accessible then the apogee right now with excellent fruit tones and a real rich and attractive style to it
