Sunday, January 25, 2015 - 19 Vintages of Musar Rouge; 1/25/2015-1/26/2015 (Clark Point House in Southwest Harbor, Maine): Color: Vibrant ruby core with a clear meniscus.
Smell: Cement, roses, tart red fruits, clove, and earth.
Taste: Light and bright red fruits, mushrooms, blueberries, and clove.
Overall: Given the youth of this wine, it's showing like a "typical Musar" on the nose and palate showcasing both elegance and structure with what appears to be a promise for a long future. light body, high acidity, med+ tannin with vibrant fruit. Easily enjoyable now, but those that wait will be rewarded. In honor of Bart Broadbent who made tasting the '84 Rouge possible I'll use the five * system. (***/*)
