Community Tasting Note

Sunday, March 13, 2016 - Cradle of Wine Civilization (SF Wine School): Hefty. Very dark-fruited with almost slight raisination. Superripe blackberry. Oak and Brett are both more prominent than in the 07 (but very much in balance). Muscular on the palate as well, with medium plus body, elevated alcohol, elevated acid and tannins. Apparently it was a cold year with a heat wave at the end - I wonder if some raisination did occur?

In any case, this bottle had just been opened. I bet with some time it would morph into the fantastic experience of the last one. That said, this particular taste seemed a bit heavy and overripe.

No score - this was just opened and hadn’t breathed yet.
