Sunday, November 12, 2017 - A fairly significant amount of VA was the first thing I noticed upon opening this wine, but it was within my tolerance range. Beyond that, and some reductive elements that blew off soon enough, the wine showed red fruit, leather and herbal elements on the nose and palate, and reminded me variously of a traditional aged Rioja or a Barbaresco. A good match for a mushroom risotto with a liberal sprinkling of parmesan; without food the interest was more intellectual than hedonic.
