Friday, December 27, 2019 - From a magnum decanted for several hours prior to serving (throwing off a massive amount of sediment), this is still an enormously tannic, low-alcohol monster of a wine that was tasty yet remained rather unyielding through the course of a meal. The dominant flavors seem to be sour cherry and menthol. This is quite different from most Cali cabs. If served blind I might have guessed a barolo or maybe a young Dunn (no kidding). If I had to be critical, it was somewhat one-dimensional. I suspect it is not even at midlife.
