Monday, January 18, 2016 - Seriously brambly raspberry, mint, bing cherry, new leather nose with aspects of that mature Ridge strawberry preserves already falling into place. The oak manifests itself as fresh sawn cedar, there's a brief whiff of alcohol, and a powerful fruit sweetness - not sugar but ripeness - plus good acidity, leaving a cranberry sauce sweet/tart finish. 75% Alicante/25% Zinfandel, this actually reminds me a lot of good Priorat with its zingy, energetic sweet berry fruit. I'd say this is mature but will probably cruise along for many more years as well.
