Wednesday, August 31, 2011 - Another great Il Poggione Brunello. Unfortunately it was a PnP through Vinturi...we did not have time to decant. Great nose of tobacco, earth but with bright red fruit also. Suprisingly bright palate of cherry, very acidic too. While not as "old world" as some BdM's, it is a style I just love. This wine will easily go for another decade.
