Initially, it was very tight, quite reticent and a bit thin, and it wasn't until around 5 hours in the decanter that it was really opening up properly. The nose is full of cedar, chocolate and dark cherries. The palate matches along with dried fruits and darker fruits and quite strong minerality - this was what was very pleasing and surprising. It is deep and full yet quite elegant. It as a silky mouthfeel which leads to a very long finish. This seems to have everything in place to age very well, but it does need a lot of time yet. Maybe 5 years before I try the next one? Shame I haven't got more.
