Tuesday, April 10, 2012 - Bright ruby colour with a wide orange rim. A bouquet of button mushroom, undergrowth, crayon, cheese and as opens black cherry peek out.
The palate is fleshy, smooth in texture, yet builds to result in firm, hessian tannins on the back palate. A well-balanced wine with decent concentration and weight yet hasn't that much depth. Flavours oscillate from saline, dried black cherry to a mineral, fresh acidity yet oddly feels muddy in the mid-palate. There is undoubtedly plenty of material here although it does feel a little confected ending sickly sweet.
