Saturday, February 25, 2012 - Drank side by side with a 2011. This wine was similar in color to the deep purple of 2011, with a little browning out around the edges that I would attribute to age. The wine had a nice mellowed nose of berries and dark fruit. On the palate the tannins were much less harsh than the 2011, and the wine still kept the fruit forward. That being said I would say that this wine does not have much left in the way of aging; I would recommend drinking soon. Hopefully, this is where the 2011 is heading after a few years of age.
