95 Points

Friday, December 2, 2005 - Dinner without Scott Manlin (Seattle, WA): Wow, unreal showing. This was a bit of a slow burn. Mineral and licorice greet you at first. At first this is far more primary than the 1976 and seems a little clipped on the finish. However, with a couple of hours this simply explodes. Gorgeous acidity frames a wine of great poise and presence, loaded with licorice and spice, fantastic structure and vibrancy. Yum! As glorious as the 1976 is, the complexity and vibrancy of this wine is another step beyond.
