I am not familiar enough with it to say if this is heading up or down at this point. The nose has tart cherries and perhaps some tar. On the palate, it is more interesting. Firm tannins. Very deep. Slightly bitter on the finish. The nose made me think fading, but the palate seems youngish and certainly vibrant. I liked it and it went well with food.
